Freaky Ali directed by Sohail Khan, stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the title role alongside Amy Jackson and Arbaaz Khan in a supporting role. The trailer of the movie was well received. Its first song Parinda Hai Parinda was visually appealing but the song as a separate entity couldn’t leave a mark The song titled Ya Ali Murtaza has a story to it.
Nawazuddin’s character has suffered a hand fracture and is advised by the doctor to not play the game the next day. By the reaction of the characters in the song, it seemed to be an important match or may be a finale match in the movie. I think this song will be a pre-climax one.
The music is composed by Sajid-Wajid and lyrics by Danish Sabri. The song has multiple singers in the form of Wajid,Danish Sabri and Payal Dev. It’s an amalgamation of qawwali and bhajan. The video shows the characters doing their own bit of prayers, where Arbaaz’ character is seen in a ‘dargah’ and another character, a mother figure to Nawazuddin’s character is shown in a temple.

The song somehow reminds me of Bhar do jholi from Bajrangi Bhaijaan and that’s a good thing. While it may not be as good as that one but it’s a win for the makers. The singing trio of Wajid, Danish Sabri and Payal Dev have done a fabulous job. The way it is picturised showing the prominence of both Eid and Ganpati.
